... and today, that something was how to say "I crapped my pants" in Japanese. You see, during after-school playtime one of my 3rd graders shat his pants. I'm not exactly sure what prompted poor little Yuusaku's accident, but we in the staffroom were alerted when we heard some commotion by the main entrance of the building and the word "unko" (the Japanese word for turds, as the more astute of you may recall) being tossed around quite a bit.
The boy's homeroom teacher and I went to investigate, where Yuusaku announced "unko morachatta" (literally "poop leaked"). Tokushige sensei then walked the poor boy to the bathroom, though Yuusaku couldn't really manage a proper gait. He had one hand permanently attatched to his backside, perhaps in an attempt to keep anything further from spilling out, and so could only manage a slightly twisted-sideways hobble.
We all felt sorry for him, but once he was out of hearing range the rest of us in the staff room (a group that included our principal) broke down in laughter for a good five minutes.
