Sam and I were talking last night and I noted, with some amusement, that though I studied German for seven years I don't think I ever learned the word for "bronchitis", though I sure as hell know the word in Japanese (気管支炎 - ki-kan-shi-en, if you were wondering).
She's been sent home from work three days in a row now, and went to the doctor yesterday to get the bad news. Hopefully this doesn't mark the beginning of "bronchitis season" like we've had the last few years.

oh my god please find an american doctor...this is in no way normal. Either she has some infection that is never being completely resolved or there is a larger problem. No one is sick this often that doesn't have a compromised immune system. I do realize she is around kids, but colds don't just become bronchitis every time.
I would consider ordering some probioics (I recommend "green vibrance" its kinda expensive, but worth it).
Do they give flu shots there? She should definitely have one.
Are you able to switch doctors? I would, as this one seems incompetent. Chest xrays show consolidation in the lungs, not disease. What other testing is being done?
Can you tell I'm tired of hearing sam is sick? This seems a little ridiculous.

oh, and by american doctor I mean anyone trained not in asia, as I would guess that the combined east/west medical practices may be the problem. Not that one is right or wrong, but codeine powder and antibiotics repeatedly are apparently not getting to the source of the problem.
Whew! Nurse Robin has spoken...well. Thanks, Robin! Maureen
